The Bowerman Family

My research on this family began after viewing some photographs my mum took when she went to a cemetery in Prince Edward County. I had no idea which cemetery, but upon searching on the internet, I found out that it was the Bowerman Hill Cemetery in Hallowell, Prince Edward County, and so my search on the Bowerman family began!                                    Stephen & Elizabeth Bowerman Stephen Job Bowerman was born December 31st of 1848 to Gideon Hughes Bowerman and Mary S Christy. He had two known younger brothers, Albert Claude  (born 1850, married Lillian Thorn after Ida E Bedell), and James (born 1852, married Charlotte Jane and later Melvina). Stephen  married Elizabeth Lucas on September 20th of 1869, and they had five known children. He is buried in Bowerman Hill Cemetery in Hallowell. Elizabeth Lucas  was born November 21st, 1850 in Belleville, Hastings County, to Miles Lucas (1824-1903)   and Olive Bowerman (1823-1901, dau. of John and Mary) . She died August 2

The Cosby Family Cemetery

Located in West Lincoln on Silver Street is a peculiar cemetery in the middle of a field. This cemetery is the Cosby family cemetery. I have not found much information on it at all. This must be their old farm property.                                                                     Burials Cosby, Benjamin C Cosby, Benjamin Canby Cosby, Melinda Jane Cosby, Minnie B Cosby, Robert A Cosby, Robert J Roy, Emma Jane   Benjamin C Cosby was born around 1819. He died March 26th, 1887 of old age.  Benjamin Canby Cosby was born around 1864 to Robert J Cosby and Melinda Jane Cosby (maiden unknown). He died March 3rd, 1873. Melinda Jane Cosby was born around 1838. She died July 6th, 1896 of sudden heart disease. Savage Settlement Cemetery

This pioneer cemetery is located in the woods in Novar, a small community north of Huntsville. I visited this location on May 17th, of 2016. It is supposedly on what was part of the Savage Family farm and property. No known burials have the last name Savage, though. The cemetery is located in the woods and is not particularly easy to find. It should be noted that it was called St. Ann's at the times of the burials. See additional cemetery photos at the very end of this post.                                                                                                                                             BURIALS Browne, Elizabeth Collins Browne, Thomas Frederick Maynard, Nellie  Thomas, Amelia Barnes Thomas, Charles Edward Thomas, Grace Isabel Thomas, James Edgar Thomas, Mabel Ellen Thomas, Mary Jane Maguire Thomas, William Edward Whiddon, Unknown                                                                       Elizabeth Browne Collins   was bo

The Anger Family

I visited the Anger Family cemetery (located in Dunnville, Ontario) in early May. Supposedly, the land used to be part of the Anger Family farm property. There is not a whole lot of information on the history of the place, though. It overlooks the grand river, which may or may not be somewhat eerie considering one of its burials was due to a drowning that occurred there.                                                                  BURIALS Anger, Aaron Anger, Calvin A.
