The Cosby Family Cemetery

Located in West Lincoln on Silver Street is a peculiar cemetery in the middle of a field. This cemetery is the Cosby family cemetery. I have not found much information on it at all. This must be their old farm property.

Benjamin C Cosby was born around 1819. He died March 26th, 1887 of old age. 



Benjamin Canby Cosby was born around 1864 to Robert J Cosby and Melinda Jane Cosby (maiden unknown). He died March 3rd, 1873.



Melinda Jane Cosby was born around 1838. She died July 6th, 1896 of sudden heart disease. She was married to Robert J Cosby and had four known children, Robert A, Minnie B, Benjamin Canby, and George Hamilton.



Minnie B Cosby was born in November of 1876 to Robert J Cosby and Melinda Jane Cosby. She died when she was one month old on December 6th, 1876.


Robert A Cosby was born October 10th, 1873 to Robert J Cosby and Melinda Jane Cosby. He died aged 4 months and 14 days on January 24th of 1874.


Robert J Cosby was born around 1835. He died July 3rd, 1876. He was married to Melinda Jane Cosby. They had four known children - Benjamin Canby, George Hamilton, Robert A, and Minnie A.



Emma Jane Roy was born around 1866. She died March 22nd, 1892, aged 26 years and 2 months. She was married to Thomas Roy. One potential child may be Edna May Roy who married James Webber.

The Hardie Family

I was recently inclined to start looking into some of the information on Martha Bowie Brownlie Hardie, who is buried in Hurdville Cemetery in Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada. She was born in Scotland to James and Jane (maiden name possibly Bowie) Brownlie and married Alexander Hardie on August 6th 1879 in Parry Sound, Ontario. She died on January 24th 1938 in Hurdville, Ontario. They had 13 known children, which included*: James Hardie, born September 18th 1880 in McKellar, Parry Sound, Ontario. William Hardie, born December 2nd 1881 in McKellar who he married Esther Annie Phillips (daughter of Charles Wesley Phillips and Susan Whales) on May 19th 1915 in Hurdville, Ontario. John Hardie, born October 6th 1883 in McKellar, Ontario. Alexander Hardie, born January 14th 1887 who died in 1926 in Biscotasing, Sudbury, Ontario, and was single at the time of his death. The date of death was unknown and the cause of death was unknown, with the doctor noting that "no marks of viole...

The Maynard Family

                                        Nellie Maynard Nellie Maynard,  daughter of  Henry Maynard  and  Emma Branch.  She was born in Worth, Sussex, England on December 14th, 1898, and died in Chaffey Township, Muskoka, Ontario, Canada, on April 12th of 1914. She died of acute nephritis. She had eight siblings - six sisters and two brothers. Her siblings were:  Clara ( 1894 - 1972, m. Louis Jerome Orser on Oct. 12, 1914),  Winnifred ( 1896 - , m. Daniel McComb on Sept. 2, 1914, and later Edward James Carey in 1918),  Bessie ( 1901 - 1990, m. Harold C. Finley),  Emma  (1903 - 1986, m.
