I was working on sorting some photos I had taken last year, when I started trying to figure out who some of the people were. This tends to happen easily....and so, another post shall be written.
This post begins in Diltz Road Cemetery in Attercliffe Station in Haldimand, Ontario, Canada. There are many names there such as Dolan, Teeft, and Houser, and all three are involved in today's post. There is certainly more work to be done on this, but I figured I would write up this post and add to it as I research more, since it can get overwhelming to do it all at once.
James Alfred Teeft & Elizabeth Jane Putman
James Alfred Teeft was born May 9th of 1843 and died October 13th of 1922. He died of Bronchitis, and the contributory factor in his death was that he had Broncho Pneumonia. It is unknown when, but he married Elizabeth Jane Putman who was born October 21st, 1843, and died December 12th, 1912. They had four known children. John Wesley Teeft, described in detail below, Oliver Teeft (who married Mary Alice Murray), Alice Maria Teeft (who married George William Misener) and Annis Elmer Teeft (who married Sarah Catharine Park, the daughter of Alice King and Peter Elijah Park).
John Wesley Teeft
Their son, John Wesley Teeft, was born in October of 1864 and died in 1953. His cause of death is unknown. He married Mary Elizabeth Adley (born 1867, died 1945, daughter of Lewis and Catherine Adley) and they had 3 known children: Carrie Leata Teeft born January 20th, 1895 and died in 1972, Hamilton Elwood Teeft born in 1897, and Mildred Muriel Teeft born in 1906. Elwood (1896-1968) married Annie Elizabeth Brown (daughter of James and Isabel Wren Brown, 1902-1980) in 1926 and Mildred Muriel married Talbot Walter Miller (son of Walter Miller and Jessie Swick) in 1926.
Carrie Leata Teeft & William J Houser
Carrie Leata Teeft was born January 20th of 1895 and died in 1972. She married William J Houser when she was only 17, with consent from her parents. He was 23 years old at the time. William J Houser was born in September 1888 and died in 1975, the son of Philip Houser (1859-1944) and Maria Dolan (1863-1951). All four share a headstone together in Diltz Road Cemetery. As many did at the time, Carrie went by her middle name Leata. On her birth certificate, Leata is misspelled Laeta. There are no known children of Leata and William, but there are two infant granddaughters buried in Diltz Road Cemetery with them, named Dianna and Helen. The years 1945 are on either side of Dianna's name.
Maria Dolan and Philip Houser
The parents of William J Houser had 3 other known children, John M Houser, Maud Houser, and Jennie M Houser which appear on a census. Maria was born in 1863 and died in 1951, and Philip was born in 1859 in Germany to Barbara and Casper Houser and died in 1944. Maria and Phillip married on November 7th of 1883 in Moulton.
Barbara & Casper Houser
Casper Houser was born on January 3rd of 1835 and died on August 7th of 1922. Barbara Houser was born on April 29th, 1835 and died on March 2nd, 1917. Both are buried in Diltz Road Cemetery.

- James A and Elizabeth J Teeft are buried in Winslow/Bethel United Cemetery on 7025 Silver Street, Winslow, Gainsborough Township, Lincoln County, Ontario.
- John Wesley Teeft, their son, is buried in Diltz Road Cemetery, Attercliffe Station, Haldimand, Ontario. His wife Mary Elizabeth Adley is buried with him.
